Lori Senecal was born into humble beginnings. Lori was the youngest daughter of a schoolteacher and shopkeeper. With four other siblings, she always had to fight for what she wanted, and negotiation and innovation became part of who she had to be. When it was time to go to school, she really did not know what career field she wanted to go into, but she took a chance with business and never looked back. Now Lori Senecal is one of the highest-ranking executives in the advertising field today. She was recently named the CEO of Crispin, Porter, and Bogusky (CP+B) in a report by PRNewsWire, and she is not showing any signs of slowing down.
One of the things that makes Lori so unlike many of the other executives that you see today is the fact that she is extremely humble and shy. In an interview conducted with Campaign Newsletter, Senecal said that she would often be terrified of having to speak in front of people, and in meetings she had to learn to be more assertive. While this does not seem like the normal temperament for a CEO, Lori has proved herself to be extremely useful to companies time and time again.
When she graduated from McGill University in Montreal, Senecal moved up the corporate ladder quickly. After her initial few years in the field, she started working for McCann Workgroup, where she co-founded a new branch of the Company called TAG Ideation in 2003. By 2006 she was named the Chief innovation, and by the next year she was the President of McCann Worldgroup New York. She left McCann in 2009 to become the President and CEO of Kirshenbaum, Bond, Senecal, and Partners in 2009, where she continued to innovate and create new ides in the marketing industry. After working for years at KBS, she was named CEO of CP+B.
Throughout Lori’s entire career she has been beating the odds, and she has been rewarded for it over and over. In 2014 she was appointed as a Board Member of MDC Partners. In that same year, as well as in 2016, she was named in Advertising Age’s “Agency Executives to Watch,” one of the only people to be named twice. She also was awarded for being a “game changer” by the Advertising Women of New York organization, as well as being awarded a jury seat in the Isaac Awards.
