He is one of the world’s renowned surgeons in the medical field with specialization in urologic oncologic surgery with interests in prostate conditions. He was born in Iran before migrating to Belgium and London and finally to the United States where he resides with his family in New York. He is a certified medical practitioner specializing in the treatment of kidney cancer, bladder cancer, prostate cancer and other urologic conditions. Currently, he serves as the Chief of Robotic Surgery and Chairman of Urology at Lenox Hill hospital.
Dr. David Samadi has performed countless of surgeries with a higher success rate, and this has been made possible through his technique known as SMART. The method involves separating the prostate from the surrounding nerves with microscopic precision to avoid damaging nerves. He says it has less post-surgery side effects making it very efficient.
He holds a degree in Biochemistry and M.D degree from the Stony Brook School of Medicine. He undertook his postgraduate training at the Montefiore medical center. Later on, he took an oncology fellowship at Memorial Sloan Kettering cancer center with majors in Proctology.
